Having a memorial PATCH made for your child.
If you want to make the memorial PATCH for your child.

We will make 365 fabric quilts for public display, one for each day of the year. Each quilt will have blocks with a picture of a child and their story , to represent the average number of children through the age of 19 who die each day from firearms. Each quilt will ask, "Can you sleep with this?" Paper quilt blocks will be made for children permanently damaged by gunfire. Click here if your child/teen was permanently damaged.

To create a quilt block for children through the age of 19, we need:

  • a picture of the child (send an extra copy or color xerox - a 5” x 7” would be best, 3 or 4 clear snapshots could be used depending on other information put on the quilt block.)
  • the date of death
  • date of birth
  • information about the child/teen (likes, disposition, ambitions, etc.)
  • information about how the child/teen died from a firearm (accident, relative, another child, drive-by, suicide, etc.)
  • City & State

Also include your name, address, telephone number, and relationship to the child.

Send the information to:

PATCH Quilts Project, Inc.
PO Box 7116
Delray Beach, FL 33482-7116

or email the information to: PATCHQuiltsProject@yahoo.com

Blocks will be made by volunteers at no charge, but if you are interested in doing a block for a special child or teen, write to PATCH for specifications.

ABOUT OUR TELEPHONE:
Our telephone line tends to be tempermental when it rains. If you have a problem getting through, try the next day. Generally you will reach a message machine. Because we are a very small, all volunteer organization, the phone is located in the home of one of our busy officers. Your call will be returned within 24 hours, unless the officer is out of town. E-mail is checked even when our officers are out of town.
