he Renaissance Historical Society of Florida is a not for profit organization based in Miami, Florida. The society presents the Italian Renaissance Festival every year in March. In addition, we gather throughout the year, enjoying such activities as picnics, often dressed in garb (costume). Many of our members perform at the festival, singing, dancing, acting and fighting. Membership in the society is open to everyone! Single memberships as well as family memberships are available.

here's no chance for boredom in the society! Society activities include:

  • Renaissance Sunday - Members meet on the first or second Sunday of each month for food, fellowship and a bit of business! Come as a peasant, bring your goblet and make merry!
  • Chessmasters - The Chessmasters currently meet at Tropical Park, Bird Road entrance on SW 79 Ave. every Sunday for instruction in swordplay and rehearsal.
  • Guard Duty - Throughout the year, the Society provides costumed "guards" for various themed events throughout South Florida.
  • Costumed performers - Character performers provide atmosphere at many events in South Florida.
  • Taste of Italy - In the summer months, members meet once a month at local restaurants to sample the flavors of the old country!
